The house has spectacular sea views and has been furnished to a very high standard. This lovely property comprises many features with beamed ceilings, stone walls, tiled floors and fireplace all restored in keeping with it's age.
Altea is located in the region of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. This is without doubt one of the most beautiful towns to be found on Spain's 'White Coast'. If you want all night clubs and the bright city lights on your holiday, give Altea a miss. This town is a holiday heaven for the more discerning tourist who will be captivated by its medieval cobbled streets, its picture book old quarter and the delights of its palm-fringed seafront esplanade. Altea is a restful resort where there's plenty to see and do without being bothered by the mayhem which typifies some of the busier coastal towns in high season. Altea is an attractive town with a history going back many centuries. The towns name was derived from the Arabs who named it Althaya, meaning health to all.
This village with its many little streets of immaculate white washed houses is a fascinating place to stroll . . . From the old town it's a short walk to the sea-front by any of the network of cobbled streets , many of which are adorned with bougainvillaea and jasmine. The commercial part of the town, offers its market ,boutiques and the newer palm-lined esplanade packed with restaurants serving delicious international cuisines. Altea holds the biggest street market in the region and visitors flock from all over the area to purchase fresh locally grown produce and gifts, the market is held on Tuesdays from 8.30am till 1pm.
Although most of our guests seem more than content to while away the day relaxing and enjoying the easy lifestyle associated with Altea“s old town, and beach, there are a multitude of things to do in the surrounding area. Due to Altea“s cultural status (it is home to the University of Fine Arts) there are dozens of art galleries and antique and craft shops, selling items unique to the area. As well as the many sports on offer, there are also many attractions for children (and the young at heart) City life in Alicante (45 mins) and Valencia (1 hr 15 mins) is offset by the stunning Costa Blanca mountain scenery, home to the ancient monastery village of Guadalest. Altea is only approximately 20 minutes drive from the night life of Benidorm , and is handily placed for visiting its many attractions. The famous water park of Aqualandia and Terra Mitica, Spain“s largest theme park with rides from around the world. Also the very popular Mundomar Dolphinarium.
