The greatest attraction of the town is at the hill top where you will find the Costa Blancas most distinctive landmark - the Church of Altea with its magnificent dome of blue and white glazed ceramic tiles. The walk up to the church plaza through narrow cobbled lanes of the old quarter along the array of local craft shops and galleries should be on everybody to-do list. The plaza offers the most spectacular views of the mountains and Bay of Altea. There are also top class restaurants where you can enjoy both traditional Spanish and a variety of excellent Mediterranean cuisine.
