This Spanish rental property is a luxurious new townhouse (sleeping 6-8) which is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and is set amongst the San Blas pine forest in the town of Santiago de la Ribera – a short 5-10 minute drive from Murcia San Javier Airport. It is just a 10/12 minute walk from the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Mar Menor (4 km long) and just 5-10 minutes stroll from the many shops, bars and restaurants of Santiago de la Ribera. The development also boasts several communal swimming pools and a large children’s play area, including swings, slides and a fenced football and basketball court.
The town of Santiago de la Ribera is situated on the north shore of the Mar Menor, 5-10 mins drive from Murcia (San Javier) airport and 25 mins drive from the La Manga strip. Santiago de la Ribera evolved from a fishing village into the premier summer holiday destination for well-heeled Murcian families, who built their houses along the coastline. Although Santiago de la Ribera has a modern, exclusive feel with an attractive esplanade flanked by palm trees that run the length of the beautiful sandy beach, it has not lost any of its original charm. An excellent sailing club, a water sports school and scores of excellent bars and restaurants, together with the warmth of the local people, make this beautiful town a unique holiday destination.
The Mar Menor (‘Little Sea’), found in the south-east of the region of Murcia on the Costa Calida, is Europe’s largest salt water pool - a shallow lagoon of some 170 square km. The area is a haven for all types of water sports, including sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and diving. The average annual daytime temperature here is 24 C and the winters are very mild with little rain. With over 3000 hours of sunshine a year and such a mild climate, the water temperature can reach 30 C in summer. The area also boasts many excellent golf courses, including Campo de Golf Villamartin, Real Club de Golf Campoamor and the famous La Manga Club.
